Solar For Farmers
Grow Your Margins
Make the Most of Your Land
We design solar panels for farm use. With the number of outbuildings, barns, and other site structures, farms often have an inherent makeup for large organized solar sites. Roofs with massive square footage or large areas of land that are typically unused are great homes for solar energy systems which can offset the high costs of daily power usage.
Maximize Your Farming Potential
You may take advantage of solar in so many different ways. It not only powers your machinery and buildings, but it also provides a variety of benefits to different farming communities. It promotes growth productivity and improves the quality of life of animals and plants.
Solar Benefits For Farmers
Solar Investment Tax Credit
The Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is a tax credit that can be claimed on federal income taxes for solar power constructed in a given year. Solar beginning construction beginning between 2020 to 2030 may receive a tax credit of up to 30% of installation costs.
Tax Deductions for Depreciation
Depreciation comes into play on your federal taxes. Solar installations used for agricultural production can be depreciated and used as a deduction on federal taxes. This depreciation can be as much as 33% of the total cost. Much of this can be obtained in as little as one year. Percentage will depend on your tax bracket. We recommend consulting with your accountant to obtain exact numbers.
Rural Energy For America Program
REAP works to help rural areas obtain contribution of renewable energy in agriculture sector (including solar power). The REAP Grant and/or Loans are available to many agricultural producers and rural small businesses. REAP Grants may cover up to 50% of eligible project costs, while loans may be used to cover up to 75%.
